NMC stated that several forged/fake letters of permission have been issued to various colleges on behalf of member/ President, MARB due to which an official list has been released now.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) today released a list of medical colleges in which the number of MBBS and PG seats have been increased. The list has been uploaded after the new UG and PG seats were approved by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB).
“It has come to the notice of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission recently that several forged/fake letters of permission have been issued to various colleges on behalf of member/ President, MARB whereas no such communications have been sent to the colleges in this regard,” NMC stated in a circular.

Due to this, the Commission has now released the list of colleges with total number of seats (UGs and PGs) after approval by MARB. “It is clarified that this is these are the colleges approvals, LOPs or renewal given for this academic year,” the circular added.
The Commission has also appealed to colleges to not pay heed to any fake letters in circulation, and reach out to NMC in case of issues. “If any discrepancies are found /noticed by any Stake holder/general public, then it may be brought to the notice of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission immediately so that necessary action can be taken in such matters without any delay,” NMC urged.
