No change in DSC schedule

Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathy has said that the last date for submitting fee challan for DSC examination has been extended till July 19 and applications will be accepted till July 20. The decision has been taken to enable the B.Ed and D.Ed candidates awaiting results also submit their applications and appear for the DSC to be held from August 26. In addition to 62,000 teachers recruited in the last years, 22,000 would be recruited in the ensuing DSC and another DSC would be held in December to fill vacancies, he said.

Participating in the ‘Prajahitam’ programme at the Secretariat here on Thursday, he said there would be no change in the dates of the DSC examination. A decision was also taken to conduct a common test for both the DSC recruitment as well as Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), as laid down in the Right To Education Act, instead of asking the candidates to appear for the tests separately.

Meanwhile, Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju speaking to reporters on Thursday said that the vacant 1,585 posts in the scheduled areas will be filled through special DSC and a notification will be issued on July 15. He said the vacant posts would be filled only with local tribal people.
The last date for submission of applications is July 28 and the candidates final merit list would be announced on August 13.
