Odisha: Council of Higher Secondary Education will publish Plus II results on May 29

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will publish Plus II results on May 29, higher education minister Badrinarayan Patra announced here on Thursday. Application for Plus III admission will start three days later on June 1.

"Results of all the streams will be published at 11 am on May 29. These will be available online from 12 noon," the minister said. Around 2.90 lakh students have appeared the examination in arts, science, commerce and vocational stream in regular and ex-regular categories.

CHSE sources said results will be available online at orissaresults.nic.in and chseorissa.nic.in, among other websites. Result booklets will be available at CHSE zonal offices in Baripada, Berhampur and Sambalpur, Ravenshaw Junior College, Cuttack, besides CHSE headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

CHSE will issue certificates on the same day of results. "Respective colleges can collect certificates and marksheets of their students from the respective zonal offices the same day," CHSE controller of examinations Jasobanta Behera said.

It is for the first time in CHSE history that there will be no top-20 list. The government had decided to do away with the list after strong suspicion from various quarters that self-financed colleges were trying to influence results to bring their students on top and enhance their marketability. This year, physics and chemistry papers got leaked for which several self-financed colleges had come under scanner. The CHSE had to conduct re-examination of the papers raising apprehension about timely results.

Higher education department authorities said the tentative admission schedule taken out for Plus II admission will now be final. "We had already taken out a tentative schedule to begin the application process from June 1. With Plus II results on time, the timeline will now become final," said Mihir Das, nodal officer for college admission. Both online and offline applications for Plus III will be available from June 1 to June 15. The government is planning to publish the first selection list on June 26 and undertake admission of the selected candidates on July 1. Classes are slated to start on July 22.
