Panel to study Eamcet errors

May 23: The Eamcet committee has decided to refer the errors in the Eamcet question papers this year to subject experts, who will examine the issue and submit a report by May 25.
Senior lecturers and students have pointed out a total of three errors -two in the question paper for the medical stream and one in the engineering stream -in the Eamcet exam that was held on Sunday across the state.

“The subject experts will examine whether the errors pointed out were correct.
Based on that, we will release the `initial key' on May 25,“ said Prof. D.N.
Reddy, the Eamcet chairman.

“We will seek objections, if any, on the initial key.
These, too, will be examined and we will come out with a `final key' within two weeks, which will be released along with the Eamcet results,“ he said.

Preliminary reports suggest that the subject experts too, felt that there were errors in the physics question papers.

Lecturers pointed out that in the engineering paper (code-D), in physics section, Question 89 was not clear in which the problem lies with the sentence “two boys climbing up the rope at the same time“.

According to lecturers and students, in the medical stream paper, in physics section (code-B), Question 91 pertaining to “transmission of heat“ had no valid answer. They demanded that it be deleted.

Similarly, in the zoology section, Question 57 was faulty. The question relates to “mechanics of breathing in rabbit“ and had two correct options, 3 and 4.
