Hyderabad: Private engineering colleges in the state on Thursday demanded the state government to pay the balance amount of the fee reimbursement scheme before March 31 to prevent banks from taking over their properties. The colleges stated that if the government fails to pay Rs 1,300 crore before March 31, over 200 colleges will face closure. Since B Tech examinations of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) are scheduled to be held in April, representatives of the Private Engineering and Professional College Managements’ Association said that the students would face trouble if the banks proceed with their decision to take over the college properties.
