Pending DSC Candidates to be given Postings

Hyderabad: Candidates who are eagerly waiting for the notification of Teachers? Eligibility Test(TET) and District Selection Committee (DSC) may have to wait for some more time. But here is a respite for those candidates, who had cleared the DSC but awaiting postings for almost two decades.
Reason: The state government is keen on first resolving the cases of those candidates who had appeared, cleared but awaiting postings for decades - from as long as 1996 onwards.

Among host of reasons, appointments based on DSCs, held between 1996 and 2012, had been embroiled in legal tangles and corruption charges. The last DSC was held in 2012 in united AP.

According to senior officials in the education department, chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had directed them to arrive at the number of such cases and asked them to workout modalities to offer them postings on case by case basis.

Preliminary estimates worked out by officials point out that over 3,000 such candidates have been eagerly waiting for postings. ?The chief minister has specifically instructed us to dispose off the cases pertaining to pending DSC appointments. He is of the view unless such candidates are accommodated arriving at the current requirement of teachers in schools is difficult,? a senior official of the school education department told Express.

Meanwhile, District Education Officers(DEOs) have been instructed to keep a tab on number of vacancies of teachers being created in respective districts. Based on these estimates, over 13,000 posts are lying vacant and remains to be filled by a fresh notification.

Website on Schools in State
The state government wants to set up a special website informing about the status of recognition, infrastructure facilities and other related information about schools in the state. Although there have been attempts by several district administrations to crack a whip on errant schools in the past many years, the efforts have only come to nought, leaving unrecognized schools continue their operations blatantly. ?The government is of the view that it is better to apprise the parents by giving them information before taking an admission in a particular school. The website becomes operational before academic year sets in,? an official said. He added that the government had so far identified 700 schools across the state.
