PG medical counselling from April 24

VIJAYAWADA: The counselling for admission into Post-Graduate Medical Degree/Diploma Courses will be held from April 24 at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences here.
Counselling will be held everyday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for 2,000 seats, up from 1800-odd last year, as the Medical Council of India has given permission for more seats, University Registrar T. Venugopal Rao said on Wednesday. The annual tuition fee for competent authority seat for clinical degree and diploma seats has been fixed at Rs.2,90,000, para clinical degree and diploma at Rs.80,000, and pre-clinical degree and diploma at Rs.30,000.

The unreserved seats would be calculated course-wise and university area-wise and the allocation done institution-wise in proportion to the seats in that institution. The seats available recognized/permitted by the MCI and university area-wise roster points for counselling would be displayed on the university website, and on the notice board one day before the commencement of the counselling, he added.

Counselling schedule for all physically challenged candidates begins on April 24 at 10 a.m. They have to attend before the Medical Board.

Candidates who have qualified at the Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test 2011 should attend the counselling by bringing all original certificates and a demand draft for Rs.10,600 for a seat in Government Medical College and Rs.13,600 for a seat in a private medical college.

Those selected would be required to report and join the course on or before May 2.
