PGMET Paper Leaked at Manipal

Continuing with its crackdown on persons involved in the post-graduate medical entrance test question paper leak, CID officials arrested seven more consultants and two students on Monday. With these arrests, the number of arrested has gone up to 20 (nine consultants and 11 candidates).

The arrested consultants are: Ch.Bhushan Reddy (Kadapa), Paulson and Patrik (Davanagere, Karnataka), Kistappa (Guntakal), Chakravarthy(Guntur), Vijay (Bangalore) and Abhimanyu (Mumbai). The arrested students are Ch.Rama Rao, Ch.Sai Praneeth, K.Ramana and P.Bharath Kumar

In a statement issued by the CID, the investigators revealed that the question paper was leaked from Manipal Printing Technologies Limited, Manipal, Karnataka. Bhushan Reddy, who runs an educational consultancy in Hyderabad, conspired with V Suresh of Bangalore, Anuj Singh of Mumbai, Dhanunjaya Kumar Chowhan of Bihar, K.Muneeswar Reddy of Kadapa and D.Sainath, who were also involved in the same business, to leak the question paper.

After candidates KE Vijaya Kumar Goud and Ch.Gurvi Reddy agreed to pay money in exchange for question papers, they were tutored. Gurvi Reddy has already been arrested.

Kistappa and Chakravarthy gave the leaked question paper to candidates Bharath Kumar, Sai Praneeth and K.Ramana who secured the seventh, 15th and 26th ranks respectively.

Paulson gave the leaked question paper to candidates K.Rama Rao and Sonia Arogya Prakshi and tutored them to help them secure the 14th and 23rd ranks respectively. Abhimanyu and Patrik were actively involved in picking up candidates and arranging facilities at the tuition venue.
