Rush to wrap up exams before State split

The education Department officials are in a hurry to complete all the major exams before June 2, the date when the two Telugu states come into existence. Officials anticipate trouble in conducting the exams later due to various reasons.

The Board of Intermediate Education has released the schedule for advanced supplementary exams even before the main results are announced. These exams have been scheduled in such a manner that they conclude on June 1.

Similarly, the AP State Council of Higher Education has preponed the EdCet from June 2 to May 30 without citing any reason. Officials expect trouble in division of employees between the two states after June 2.

Giving "options" to Seemandhra employees to work in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad, after the division of the states already has became a contentious issue. Both the TRS and the Congress have made this a "poll issue". While TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been strongly opposing these "options" to Seemandhra employees, Congress has been criticising the TRS president for his remarks against Seemandhra employees.

Both the Telangana and Seemandhra employees' associations are at loggerheads over this issue. Top officials expect this issue to snowball into a major controversy after the formation of two states on June 2.

Normally, the BIE releases Inter supplementary exam schedule after the announcement of the Inter second-year results. Normally, these exams are held in the first week of June. But this time, they will conclude by June 1.

However, officials of the SSC Board are worried about conducting the common supplementary exams for both the states after the bifurcation of state. SSC results are expected in the last week of May and the supplementary exams will be held in the last week of June. There will be division of staff in both Inter and SSC Boards following the bifurcation of state on June 2.
