SC says no to stay on AIEEE result

NEW DELHI : The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the plea for staying the declaration of All India Engineering Entrance Examination results, saying that the career of over 10 lakh students could not be put in jeopardy when the results were about to be declared shortly.

A bench of justices G.S.Singhvi and C.K. Prasad dismissed a special leave petition moved by some students and a former NIT Jamshedpur professor A.P.

Sinha, citing the leak of paper on the day of exam on May 1 and the delay of three hours in starting the paper as the reason for staying the pronouncement of results by CBSE.

The petitioners had moved the SC after the Delhi HC had rejected their plea for cancelling and rescheduling of the exam.
