Scholarships for degree students

The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) is inviting applications from first year degree students under the “Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students” and the scholarships will be given based on Intermediate marks.

Parental income

The candidates' parental income should not be more than Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum and they should not avail of any other scholarship.

Duration

The scholarship of Rs. 1,000 per month will be paid to the selected candidates for three years and Rs. 2,000 per month in the fourth and fifth year for professional degree and PG courses.

The State has been allotted 6,097 scholarships under the scheme and they will be distributed in the ratio of 3:2:1 for science, commerce and humanities stream and 1:1 ratio for girls and boys.

The last cut-off marks for all categories are available on the website ‘www.biepa.gov.in' and the last date to apply for the scholarship is September 30.
