SKU to hold CET for PG courses this year

Decision at meeting with Vice-Chancellors, representatives of all Rayalaseema universities
It has been decided in a meeting in Hyderabad on Thursday that Sri Krishnadevraya University will hold the common entrance test for admissions in the PG courses into all universities of the Rayalaseema region for the academic year 2012-13.

At the meeting between the Vice-Chancellors and representatives of all universities of Rayalaseema region besides Nellore district, it was resolved that the Sri Krishnadevraya University will hold the common entrance test named the Sri Venkateswara University Region Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (SVURPGCET) on a rotation basis and that an advisory committee under the chairmanship of SKU Vice-Chancellor K. Ramakrishna Reddy be constituted for the same purpose.
Universities
The Sri Venkateswara University region comprises of all universities such as Sri Krishnadevraya University in Anantapur, Yogi Vemana University in Kadapa, Rayalaseema University in Kurnool, Vikramasimhapuri University in Nellore, Dravidian University in Kuppam and Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam in Tirupati besides Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati.
It was also decided that a separate meeting of the Vice-Chancellors would be held in the first week of February to iron out differences, if any, after eliciting the opinion of the respective universities over the core issue of common fee structure.
The meeting was also attended by the convenor of SVURPGCET and Director Department of Admissions (DOA) of SKU besides the directors of the DOA's from Yogi Vemana University, Dr. Jayapaul Gowd.
