Bar Council of India has released a notification which stated that the age limit for 3 year LLB Degree Courses is 45 years and for 5 year courses is 22 years. Supreme Court issued an stay order on this notification. Justice SA Bobde and Justice L Nageswara Rao expressed their dissatisfaction towards BCI for fixing the age limit for Law Courses.
They are very disappointed by the decision of BCI, on one hand BCI talks about promoting legal education, on the other they fix age limit. Drishti Chopra who is pursuing law from Symbiosis Law School, Noida said that Supreme Court has done a great job since law gives you the knowledge of your own existence in our country and tells you about your rights and duties, therefore I feel everyone at any age should be able to do a law course for fulfilling their curiosity towards their country and its law.
The final hearing is scheduled in the third week of July.
