Telangana Govt Proposes Eamcet Coaching for ST Students

Hyderabad: In a decision that could give a major relief to tribal students, the state government is all set to impart Eamcet coaching in ST welfare hostels
This apart, the government is also proposing to facilitate coaching for tribal students to appear for national-level entrance examinations. ‘’For those who are staying in hostels and studying Intermediate, the government will impart Eamcet coaching. As they are not able to get good ranks in Eamcet, they are dropping out of welfare hostels,’’ ST development minister Ajmera Chandulal said at a review meet of the department here on Thursday. To ensure that there are no dropouts, government had decided to extend Eamcet coaching so that the students get admissions into engineering, medicine and agricultural colleges.

It was decided to construct compound walls at all ST girls’ hostels and also instal CCTVs in them and appoint watchmen to the hostels.

Chandulal said special drives will be conducted during this summer to know the problems in welfare hostels and accordingly funds will be released to solve them. It was also decided to release special funds for maintaining toilets in hostels as there is a general notion that the toilets in these hostels were not maintained properly.

He said the vacant posts in educational institutions and offices run by tribal welfare department will be filled soon. Similarly, government will consider increase in salaries of temporary teachers working in ashram schools.
