Telangana SSC students to get extra time

Hyderabad: Additional 15 minutes will be given for the regular students who were appearing for SSC examinations commencing from March 25, said T Chiranjeevulu, Commissioner, Department of School Education.
Speaking to newspersons here on Thursday, he informed as the regular students would be taking new pattern of question paper from this year, the school education department has enhanced 30 minutes for second language paper and 15 minutes for other papers.

The additional time was given to the students to understand the new pattern of question paper, he reasoned. The examinations will be held from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm (second language- 9.30 am to 12.45 pm) for regular students and for private students, it is from 9.30 am to 12 pm.
According to Sheshu Kumari, Director of Government Examinations, the new pattern (formative assessment and theory examinations) would be applicable only for the regular candidates. She said once failed students should take the old pattern of examination only. Chirajeevulu made it clear that scoring well in the formative assessment alone would not be enough to clear the examination. “The students have to score minimum of 35 marks to clear the examination,” he said.

He informed that students would be allowed after 30 minutes of the commencement and made it clear that no student would be allowed beyond it. A total of 5,65,000 students will take SSC examinations that will begin from March 25. Of the total 5,15,590 are regular candidates and 49,410 are private candidates. For smooth conduct of examination, the Department of School Education has arranged 2,614 examination centres across the State. It asked the RTC to ply special buses during examinations and also requested Transco department for uninterrupted power supply for the examination centres.
