UGC declares NET results

The University Grants Commission has declared results for the National Eligibility Test on Monday. Of the 5,32,043 candidates who appeared for the test, 24,865 candidates qualified.

A total of 6,87,874 candidates had registered for the test, of which, 5,32,043 appeared for it. Of the candidates who appeared, 1,20,718 cracked the test to come under the consideration category. Among the consideration category students, 3,749 candidates had become eligible for National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellow.

This year, more male candidates have cleared the test in general category, 57.5 per cent. Candidates can view their result on the UGC's website s: www.ugc.ac.in and www.ugcnetonline.in.

NET has become the eligibility for a person to join college/university as assistant professor or as junior research fellowship (JRF). UGC conducts NET in 79 subjects at 86 coordinating institutions across the country.
