Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar mentioned in his written statement in Lok Sabha that a total of 10,285 posts for teaching staff are vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
He also stated that 4,296 posts are vacant since 2014-15, 2,019 posts are vacant since 2015-16 and 3,970 posts are vacant since 2016-17.
In a bid to address the prevailing crunch of teaching staff, the HRD ministry conducted a direct examination for the recruitment at 6,205 teacher's posts, while the rest are to be filled through Limited Department Examination.
Moreover, the minister reveals that there are around 17,006 vacancies of Professors, 10,926 of Associate Professors, and 6,080 of Assistant Professors across the Central universities.
