YVU professor invited to Japan

KADAPA: M.V. Shankar, Associate Professor and Head of Materials Science and Technology at Yogi Vemana University, has been invited as a visiting scientist to Japan under the Indo-Japan Cooperative Science Programme by the Department of Science and Technology and Japan Society for Promotion of Science, to promote scientific collaboration between Indian and Japanese scientists.

The objective of his visit is to discuss long-term academic/research exchange programme on nano-structured materials with host researcher Prof. Yasuro Ikuma of Department of Applied Chemistry in Kanagawa Institute of Technology in Japan.

Dr. Shankar left for a 12-day stay in Japan from March 5 to 19 to review and finalise the research proposal entitled “the exploitation of sunlight active nano-structured photo catalysts for environmental and energy applications”.

The research would pave way for discovery of a new class of nanomaterials for decontamination of toxic warfare reagents in water/air and hydrogen fuel production for sustainable future.
