so overall ISTAR is a good college and i am happy with my decision of choosing this college because the MSc Industrial Chemistry course is very unique and different from other colleges and the scope is very broad because we study so many things like chemical engineering and pharmaceutical and petroleum and quality assurance and so many more subjects so career options is more then regular MSc chemistry. the good things about this college is the campus environment is very clean and peaceful and full of trees and the faculty is mostly good and approachable and the placement record is 100 percent which is biggest positive point and the industrial training which is mandatory in our course gives you real world exposure which is very helpful. but there is some bad things also like there is no canteen inside college which is very inconvenient and no transport facility also so you have to manage yourself and some lectures feel very boring and one sided and syllabus could be more updated according to current industry trends. the exams is very frequent like unit test then internal then external so you have to study continuously which is little stressful sometime but it is good for your learning also so it is both good and bad. my advice for aspirants who want to join ISTAR for MSc Industrial Chemistry is that if you are serious about career in chemical or pharma or petroleum industry then this course is very good choice and the fees is also very reasonable around 2 lakh total for whole course so value for money is very good. just be ready to study regularly and dont take exams lightly because checking is very strict. and enjoy the campus life and the big university events like Yugantar because those memories you will keep forever.

Campus Facilities: the classrooms is good and big enough where around 60 to 90 students can sit and they have both digital screen board and blackboard so faculty use both according to topic which is very helpful for understanding. the labs is also good and we do our practical work there regularly. the library is big and has good collection of books and journals and reference material so whenever you need something for study you can find it there and it is also good place to quietly sit and study. there is big auditorium and seminar hall also where all events and functions happen and it is well equipped. for medical facility there is free doctor available for students which is very good. ATM is also available nearby in the city as it is inside city location so no problem for that. the one bad thing is there is no canteen inside college and no transport facility also so you have to manage food and travel yourself which is little inconvenient sometime.
Campus Life: so campus life at ISTAR is very good and enjoyable and the best thing is every festival is celebrated in college properly whether it is navratri or diwali or independence day so the campus always feels lively and full of energy. but the biggest and best event is Yugantar and Ganotsav which is organised by CVM university and i will say this is absolutely next level event. all colleges under CVM university participate and the scale is so big and performances and activities is so good that you feel very proud to be part of this university and these memories stay with you forever honestly. Shastri Maidan is my personal favourite place where students go to play cricket and football and just relax after long college hours and the crowd in college is very friendly and supportive so you never feel alone and making good friends here is very easy. overall campus life at ISTAR is very positive and enjoyable experience.
Faculty: the teaching method is mix of blackboard and digital screen and sometimes group discussion also so it is not boring one method only and faculty change their method according to topic which is good. the faculty is very approachable like if you have any doubt you can go and ask them anytime and they will explain you properly and they dont make you feel bad for asking anything which is very important for students and i personally feel very comfortable going to my faculty and asking any question. my favourite faculty is who teach us industrial and pharmaceutical related topics because the way they explain with real industry connection is very different and very helpful and you can feel that they genuinely want students to learn and not just complete their syllabus and go home. and about industry exposure i will give full 5 star to this because the industrial training which is mandatory in our course is absolutely excellent and i did my training at Farmson Basic Drugs Limited in Vadodara and there i learn real manufacturing and QC and QA and ETP and so many things which no book can teach you and the faculty also guide you properly for this training so the industry exposure in this course is best thing honestly and i think this is what make ISTAR MSc Industrial Chemistry different from every other college.
Placements: last year there was 60 students in our batch and all 60 students got placed in good companies and not even single student was sitting without job after completing course which shows how much industry trust ISTAR and MSc Industrial Chemistry students and this 100 percent placement of 60 students is really impressive honestly. the companies that come to our campus for recruitment is very good names like Reliance comes and PCBL comes and Unichem comes and Inras comes and Riders comes and like this many big pharmaceutical and chemical and petrochemical companies come directly to campus and recruit students so you dont have to go outside and search for job yourself which is very convenient and good for students. the salary package that students get is between 2.5 lakhs to 4 lakhs per year as starting salary which is decent for fresh MSc graduate and as you gain more experience the salary will grow more so it is good starting point for your career. for internship also the college send students for mandatory in plant training in real companies and i personally did my internship at Farmson Basic Drugs Limited in Vadodara where i got real exposure of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality control and quality assurance department and that experience is very valuable for getting job also because companies like students who have real industrial experience. so overall placement and internship opportunity at ISTAR is very good and this is one of the biggest reason i will recommend this college to anyone who want career in chemical or pharma or petroleum industry.
