The college environment is awesome. It has highly qualified teachers. It is one of the best colleges in south Odisha. The campus placements are also a good number. The MNC companies like Infosys. The admission is done through the jee mains mark and OJEE marks. There is also an option of spot admission. The only drawback is the college is very strict and the maximum focus is on the study.

Campus Facilities: The college is Autonomous but still follows the old BPUT course curriculum. You will be having 5 subjects per semester in the 1st Year. The faculties in this college are a mixture of extremely well qualified P.hd holders from IITs, NITs, BIT Mesra etc. to some that only knows brief about their subjects. For every 15 students, there is one teacher present. There will be 2 exams per semester, one Mid Semester, One End Semester, a total of 2 Quiz test. 2 Lab tests and 2 surprise tests per subject. It is easy to score an 8 pointer (CGPA) if you concentrate in class and assignments. There are 2 very big hostels inside the NIST campus. Each having 6 floors. In the first year, you will be alloted a room for 5 peoples. The rooms are spacious with windows and a combined balcony. You can change your room as per your liking. There are also options for a single room and AC rooms. The mess food quality is very average as every college. You will be getting NON- Veg as well as the Veg menu. You will be getting snacks in the evening which is quite good considering the process of 3000 Rs per month.

Campus Life: The college organises various fests like SANKALP (Annual Tech Fest) and various other fests. The campus is spread across 70 Acres which is quite good for an Engineering college. The college consists of all the important buildings for different branches such as LHC, GALLERIA, ATRIUM, TIFAC which is the main highlight of this college and only 5 in the entire INDIA are present. The college has a fully air-conditioned library with all the journals and books. You will get a plethora of options for sports and extra co-curricular opportunities such as cricket, volleyball, basketball, football etc. The college also has all the clubs for co-curricular activities such as coding, singing, dancing, arts and dramatics, photography etc.

Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive in every aspect. They help you and guide you in every field. They are friendly and supportive overall and the way of teaching is also awesome. Exams are 2 in each sem one is mid sem and the other is end sem. in between quizzes, surprise test of each subject goes on. each and every faculty of our college has done a PhD.

Placements: Students become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester onwards. Various companies visit our college such as Infosys, TCS, TCS Ninja, Wipro, DXC Technologies, Cognizant, Capgemini, Flipkart, L&T Technologies etc. The average package ranges between 3.5 to 4.5 lacs and the highest package offered in 2019 was 18 LPA given by Western Digital to ECE branch students. The percentage of students getting placed is around 80% before the Covid-19 pandemic.
