Academic Qualification

Candidates must hold a recognized graduate degree in one of the following AYUSH systems from an institution recognized by the relevant statutory bodies:

  • BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
  • BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery)
  • BSMS (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery)
  • BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
  • Graded BHMS degree is also accepted in some cases.

Alternatively, candidates may possess a provisional pass certificate indicating that they have completed the degree requirements.

Registration Certificate

  • Applicants must have a permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by the respective central/state councils governing Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, or Homeopathy.
  • For example, a registration certificate from CCIM (Central Council of Indian Medicine), CCH (Central Council of Homeopathy), or CCRUM (Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine) is mandatory.

Internship Completion

  • Candidates should have completed or must be likely to complete a one-year compulsory internship on or before the specified cutoff date (usually June 30 of the exam year).
  • Those who have not completed their internship by the deadline are not eligible to appear for the exam.

Nationality

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for AIPGMET 2026 as it is conducted for admission to postgraduate AYUSH colleges across India.

Age Limit and Number of Attempts

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for the AIPGMET
  • Candidates can appear for the exam any number of times as there is no restriction on the number of attempts.

Disability (PwD) Candidates

  • Candidates with benchmark disabilities, as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPwD), are eligible to apply under the PwD category.
  • They are required to submit valid disability certificates issued by authorized medical boards.

Candidates Already Pursuing Postgraduate Courses
