AP PGLCET Eligibility Criteria 2026  

The AP PGLCET 2026 (Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) is conducted for admission into the LL.M. (Master of Laws) programs offered by various universities and colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria for AP PGLCET 2026 regarding educational qualifications, marks, and nationality before applying for the exam.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must hold an LL.B./B.L. degree of 3 years or 5 years duration from a recognized university or college.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their LL.B./B.L. examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates must have cleared all the subjects and present their degree at the time of counselling/admission.

Minimum Marks Required

  • General (OC) candidates:At least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying LL.B./B.L. degree.
  • BC (Backward Classes) candidates:At least 42% marks.
  • SC/ST candidates:At least 40% marks in aggregate in the qualifying law degree.

Nationality and Domicile

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates must fulfil local/non-local status requirements as laid down by Andhra Pradesh state education regulations.

Other Conditions

  • Open school system graduates, and candidates with an ITI as their basic qualification, are not eligible for AP PGLCET.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in AP PGLCET 2026.
  • Candidates who have completed their LLB in a single sitting (through distance/open learning mode without the required minimum period) are not eligible.
