GITAM GAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The GITAM GAT (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test) is the entrance exam for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs at GITAM campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Understanding the eligibility criteria is essential for all aspirants to ensure they meet the academic and administrative requirements set by the university before applying.

General Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Indian nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
Academic Qualification:
- UG Programs: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2 examination or equivalent.
- PG Programs: Applicants must possess a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Lateral Entry: Candidates with a diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized polytechnic are eligible.
Minimum Marks: Most programs require a minimum aggregate of 50% to 60%, depending on the course and board. For CBSE/ICSE students, the requirement is often 50-55%.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for any program.

B.Tech	10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; 60% aggregate (55% for CBSE/ICSE)
B.Tech (Lateral)	Diploma in Engineering; minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST)
B.Arch	10+2 with PCM; minimum 45% aggregate and a valid NATA score
M.Tech	B.E./B.Tech/AMIE degree with minimum 50% aggregate
MBA	Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate

Important Notes

Provisional Eligibility: Candidates awaiting their final qualifying exam results are eligible to apply, provided they can produce pass certificates at the time of admission.
Admission Process: Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a seat; admission is based on the GAT score (or other accepted national/state-level exam scores) and the subsequent counseling process.
Exemptions: For some courses, valid scores in exams like JEE Main, NATA, GATE, CAT, XAT, MAT, or CUET may exempt candidates from appearing for GAT.
