Key Eligibility Criteria for GPAT 2026

  1. Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for GPAT 2026. Foreign nationals are not permitted to take the exam.
  2. Educational Qualification:
  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) of at least four years’ duration after 10+2. This includes those who gained admission through lateral entry.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of their B. Pharm program (expecting results before the commencement of M. Pharm admissions for 2026-27) are also eligible to apply and appear for GPAT 2026.
  • Tech (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology) degree holders and those with similar courses are not eligible for GPAT.
  1. Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing in the GPAT 2026 exam. Candidates of any age meeting the academic and nationality criteria can apply.
  2. Number of Attempts: Candidates may appear for GPAT as many times as they wish. There is no cap on the number of attempts allowed.
  3. Reservation Criteria: Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwD) are entitled to seats as per government norms. Institutions governed by the central government reserve 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL, 10% for EWS, and 5% for persons with benchmark disabilities.
  4. Disallowed Qualifications: Candidates possessing qualifications in fields other than a 4-year Bachelor’s in Pharmacy—including most B. Tech degrees—are not eligible.
