GPAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) 2027 is going to be a pivotal exam for candidates wanting to pursue postgraduate studies (M. Pharm) in Pharmacy across India. Understanding who is eligible to apply is essential for planning an academic pathway and ensuring a smooth application process.

Key Eligibility Criteria for GPAT 2027

Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for GPAT 2027. Foreign nationals are not permitted to take the exam.
Educational Qualification:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) of at least four years’ duration after 10+2. This includes those who gained admission through lateral entry.
Candidates who are in the final year of their B. Pharm program (expecting results before the commencement of M. Pharm admissions for 2027-28) are also eligible to apply and appear for GPAT 2027.
Tech (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology) degree holders and those with similar courses are not eligible for GPAT.

Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing in the GPAT 2027 exam. Candidates of any age meeting the academic and nationality criteria can apply.
Number of Attempts: Candidates may appear for GPAT as many times as they wish. There is no cap on the number of attempts allowed.
Reservation Criteria: Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwD) are entitled to seats as per government norms. Institutions governed by the central government reserve 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL, 10% for EWS, and 5% for persons with benchmark disabilities.
Disallowed Qualifications: Candidates possessing qualifications in fields other than a 4-year Bachelor’s in Pharmacy—including most B. Tech degrees—are not eligible.
