Instead, admissions and branch/campus allotments for B.Tech, MBA Tech, and Pharma Tech are processed strictly through a Normalized Score Merit Rank System based on performance, program choices, and seat availability.

Key Factors Affecting the NMIMS CET Cutoff

The final merit ranks and campus-branch allotments depend on several critical variables:

  1. Best of Three Attempts: Candidates can appear up to 3 times (1 main attempt + 2 retakes). The university considers the candidate's highest/best composite score among all attempts for merit list generation.

  2. Total Applicants & Seat Matrix: The volume of candidates applying for specific popular specializations (such as Computer Engineering & Data Science) raises the relative cutoff for those seats.

  3. Score Normalization: Since the test spans multiple dates and shifts via Pearson VUE centers, NMIMS applies a statistical normalization process to ensure fairness across all test slots.

  4. Order of Program Preferences: During application, candidates submit their preferred sequence of campuses and streams. Seats are allotted strictly in merit rank order following those preferred choices.

3. Merit List & Counselling Process

  • Merit List Release: Qualified candidates can log into ncet.nmims.edu to view their assigned overall Merit Rank and download their Admission Offer Letter.

  • Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment: Candidates receiving a call letter/offer letter must complete document verification and pay the required course tuition fees within the stipulated deadline to secure their seat.
