Eligibility for Counselling

Only candidates who qualify the OUAT entrance examination by meeting the cut-off marks set by the university are eligible for the OUAT 2026 counselling process. The merit list, prepared category-wise and overall, is based on candidate scores and academic records. Shortlisted candidates receive an intimation cum rank card, which is mandatory for attending OUAT counselling sessions.

Counselling Registration and Choices

Qualified candidates must register online for counselling through the official OUAT admission portal. During registration, candidates enter details reflecting their academic background, category, and course preferences. OUAT allows candidates to select multiple courses and colleges in order of preference. This choice filling is crucial for seat allotment as it reflects the candidates’ priorities and interests.

Document Verification

A critical step in the OUAT 2026 counselling will be document verification. Candidates must produce original certificates and documents for scrutiny, including the following.

    • OUAT admit card and rank card
    • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates
    • Category and domicile certificates (if applicable)
    • Medical fitness certificate
    • Migration and transfer certificates (as applicable)
    • Aadhaar or other identity proof
    • Passport size photographs
  • Verification at this stage authenticates the candidature and eligibility claims made during application.

Seat Allotment and Reporting

Based on the merit position and choices filled, OUAT releases seat allotment lists in one or more rounds. Candidates allotted seats must confirm acceptance by paying the requisite admission fee and reporting at the allocated institute within the specified timeframe. Failure to report may result in forfeiture of the allotted seat.Spot counselling or vacancy rounds for OUAT 2026 may be conducted to fill unoccupied seats, giving another chance to waitlisted or new candidates.

Commencement of Academic Session

Following successful counselling and seat confirmation, the university schedules orientation and the commencement of classes, usually in mid-August, marking the start of a new academic session at OUAT.
