  1. Educational Qualification:

Final year degree students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete the degree before admission.
    • MCA: Candidates need a bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject either at the 10+2 level or undergraduate level. The minimum marks required are 50% for general category and 45% for reserved categories.
    • M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch/M.Plan: Candidates should possess the relevant bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch) in the required branch with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Degrees must be from AICTE-approved or UGC-recognized institutions.
    • Candidates with equivalent qualifications like AMIE or 10+3 diploma holders with AMIE are also eligible.
  2. Age Limit:
    • There is no upper age limit for appearing in TANCET 2026.
    • Candidates should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
  3. Category-wise Relaxations:
    • Reserved categories such as SC, SCA, ST, and OBC enjoy a 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks.
    • Differently-abled candidates with a minimum 40% disability certificate are allowed relaxation in marks and extra time during the exam.
  4. Additional Criteria:
    • All academic degrees should be obtained through the regular mode from recognized boards or universities.
    • Distance education or correspondence degrees may be accepted only if recognized by UGC/AICTE.
    • Work experience is generally not mandatory for MBA, MCA, or M.Tech admissions except for some executive MBA programs.

    • Candidates must provide valid academic certificates (10th, 12th, graduation mark sheets and degree certificates).
    • Category certificates, domicile certificates (if applicable), disability certificates, and valid photo ID proof are required during counseling.

    • TANCET primarily serves Tamil Nadu residents; domicile candidates benefit from counseling priority and reservation.
    • Candidates from other states may apply but may have limited seat availability and different fee structures.
