TG PGLCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2026 

Before applying for the Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (TG PGLCET), candidates must carefully check the prescribed eligibility conditions. These criteria are set by the Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) to ensure that only qualified aspirants apply for the exam. The eligibility rules primarily cover aspects like educational qualifications, minimum marks required, and age limits. Fulfilling these requirements is mandatory; otherwise, the application will be rejected at any stage of admission.

  1. Nationality & Domicile

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • They should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as per Telangana State Educational Institutions rules (similar to Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions Order, 1974).
  1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. / B.L. degree from a recognized university.
  • Final-year LL.B. students awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they present proof of passing at the time of admission.
  1. Minimum Marks Required

  • General / OBC candidates: At least 50% marks in LL.B. / B.L.
  • SC / ST candidates: At least 45% marks in LL.B. / B.L.
  1. Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for TG PGLCET.
  1. Course Offered

  • The test is conducted for admission into LL.M. programmes (various specializations) offered by law colleges and universities in Telangana

Q1. Who can apply for TG PGLCET?

Ans. Any candidate who has completed or is in the final year of a 3-year/5-year LL.B. or B.L. course from a recognized university is eligible to apply.

Q2. I am in the final semester of LL.B. Can I apply?

Ans. Yes, final-year students are eligible, but they must produce their LL.B. pass certificate/marksheet at the time of admission.

Q3. Is there any age limit for TG PGLCET?

Ans. No, there is no upper age limit for appearing in the exam.

Q4. Do I need to be a resident of Telangana to apply?

Ans. You must satisfy the local/non-local status rules of Telangana (as per state educational guidelines). Non-local candidates may also apply, but local candidates have reservation benefits.

Q10. Are there any attempts limit for TG PGLCET?

Ans. No, you can appear for the exam any number of times, as long as you meet the educational qualifications.
