Established in March 1996 by the late Mirza Anwar Beg, this is a renowned educational institution. The founder, Mirza Anwar Beg, belonged to the Barlas lineage of Timur Turk, which came to India as the Mughals. His ancestors had settled in Mirzapur village as jagirdars managing military cantonments since medieval times, which is now a block headquarters near Nizamabad, a suburb of Azamgarh district. Mirza Sahab was only seven years old when his father, Mirza Muzaffar Beg, passed away in a fire accident. The responsibility of his upbringing fell to his grandfather. After receiving education from Shibli George School in Lucknow and Azamgarh in 1947, he enrolled at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in 1950. During this period, he came into contact with eminent personalities such as the late Khwaja Abdul Majeed, the late Dr. Zakir Husain (then Vice-Chancellor of AMU), Nawab Ahmad Saeed, and Rahmat Ullah Sherwani. These interactions greatly benefited him, and he drew immense inspiration from Sherwani’s personal library. He earned a Ph.D. in Geography and was registered as a research scholar at Sagar University.
The founder and manager of Maulana Azad Education Centre, the late Mirza Anwar Beg, advanced his mission by establishing this institution in 1962. For this purpose, he selected barren land in Usarhatta. As a result of these efforts, an area that had been barren for some time transformed into a fascinating cluster of educational centers. This was a unique green revolution in the field of education.
The aforementioned degree college is equipped with teaching facilities for subjects such as Hindi, Urdu, English, Medieval History, Political Science, Science, and Sociology. In NSS camps, female students are trained in patriotism, national pride, national service, duty, and moral values. They are educated and made aware of their dignity, disciplined education, and ethical conduct, and are encouraged to uphold social and national honor. They are also made aware of women’s rights and responsibilities. Compassion has become a central theme for female students at the degree college.
The degree college deserves gratitude for its achievements. After receiving recognition for offering B.Ed. programs, it has progressed further. The construction of a building for B.Ed. teaching on the first floor has been completed. The degree college is equipped with all facilities, including a vast library, laboratory, and reading room. Mirza Sahab’s followers are making every possible effort to fulfill his vision and dream. Mirza Sahab aimed to provide students in the region with technical and skill-based education and training. The entire institution’s family is well aware of this goal and continues to strive for it. Cooperation from all is essential and welcome in this regard.
