Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are required to apply through online/offline modes.
Candidates interested in seeking admission to AMET University are required to appear in the AMET Entrance test, followed by GD/Personal Interview/Medical Test as applicable to the respective Programme a candidate seeks.
Candidates have three options to submit their applications:
(1) In person against the payment of the application fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for GP rating) in cash or through a demand draft drawn in favor of AMET, Chennai from the following Centres of AMET, Chennai
(2) Online submission of application by visiting the official website at www.amituniv.ac.in
Making payment of application fee via Debit/Credit/Net banking and filling all the required details online and uploading all the relevant documents etc.
(3) To download the application form from the website at www.amituniv.ac.in and send the duly filled-in application in all respects together with all relevant copies of documents/recent passport-size photograph along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- to the Admission Office of the AMET at Kanathur or City office at Anna Nagar, the addresses of which have been furnished above.
Candidates need to appear in the Entrance Exam conducted by AMET university on the appointed date and time online in major cities in India. Following are the brief details of the syllabus of the AMET University Entrance Test:
For UG Courses, the exam shall be based on the syllabus prescribed for Higher Secondary Courses in the subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, English Grammar, Vocabulary, and Logical and Analytical reasoning.
For Management Programmes the syllabus for Entrance Test will be based on the Higher Secondary/UG Syllabus, Aptitude, Test of Reasoning, Current Affairs and English.
For PG Technical Programmes, candidates need to clear Personal Interviews conducted by the Directors of schools/HODs concerned, besides merit in their qualifying examination.
The Selection Process by the AMET University:
For admissions to all undergraduate programs, AMET University after conducting the Entrance Examination shall shortlist the candidates based on their marks obtained in the Qualifying examination and marks obtained in the Entrance Examination and Personal Interview.
For Programmes of Sciences (B.Sc-NS/BE/ME/GME/ETO & GP Rating), candidates shortlisted must undergo a medical examination by a team of doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, and an amount of Rs.1,500/- is payable towards medical examination fees.
Post-completion of the selection process, a list of candidates finally selected shall be displayed on the Notice Board of the University and the candidates need to undergo pre-admission formalities as may be required including verification of original certificates, payment of admission fee, etc. For admissions to DG-approved Programmes, admission is subject to medical fitness for the program concerned. Deadline for payment of admission/Programme fee is - Part payment within 5 days and the remaining fee within 15 days of publication of the final list of selected candidates.
For Post Graduate programs, admissions shall be based on marks obtained in the Entrance Examination, qualifying UG examination followed by GDPR marks together and a list of selected candidates shall be displayed on the Notice Board of the University.
