Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani – Hyderabad, Secundrabad – Scholarships

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani – Hyderabad offers various scholarships to its students. These scholarships are provided based on merit, academic performance, and financial need.

Following is the list of some of the scholarships and the eligibility criteria under which these financial aids can be availed by the students.

• Merit-based Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to students who have secured a high CGPA (9.3 or above) in their previous semesters.

• Merit-cum-Need Scholarships (MCN): These scholarships are offered to students who have a family income of less than 12 LPA and have a CGPA that meets the criteria. The scholarship amount depends on the CGPA and the family income of the student.

• Scholarships for Board Toppers: Students who have secured the first, second, or third position in their 12th standard board examinations are eligible for a scholarship of 100%, 75%, or 50% of the first-semester tuition fee, respectively.

• Scholarships for Merit in Qualifying Examination: Students who have obtained 90% or above in their qualifying examinations are eligible for a scholarship of 20% of the first-semester tuition fee.

• Scholarships for Merit in BITSAT: Students who have secured a high BITSAT score are eligible for a scholarship of up to 75% of the tuition fees for two semesters and a hostel fee concession for the entire four-year program.

• Scholarships for Merit in Competitive Examinations: Students who have taken up the IIT-JEE competitive examinations for admission to engineering programs are awarded BITS Pilani scholarships ranging from 25%-75% in the first-year tuition fee depending on the score secured in the examination.

• Scholarships for Sports Excellence: Students who have achieved or participated in sports at different levels are given a waiver in the 1st-semester tuition fee.

• Merit Scholarship for continuing students: Students who have obtained a CGPA of 9.00 or above on a 10.00 scale at the end of a semester are given a merit scholarship.

• Other Special Concessions: Scholarships are also offered to UAE Nationals, students who have faced the sudden bereavement of an earning member of the family, physically challenged students, and students with siblings studying at BITS Pilani.
