allaram Hanumandas Charitable Trust, Kolkata (BHCT), founded in the year 1977, headed by Industrialist, Educationist & Philanthropist Shri Hari Krishna Chaudhary, is a CSR project of Vikram-Pratibha Group of Industries. The Trust has been set up with an objective of transforming the much deprived rural area surrounding the Chaudhary Families ancestral village Bahal (District Bhiwani) in Haryana, 30 Km north of Pilani (Rajasthan). As responsible citizens, the founders of BHCT firmly believed that providing quality education will result in long lasting overall growth of this remote region. A small but visionary effort has now turned this village into an ‘Oasis of Learning’ spread over 100 acres on three different Campuses. BHCT heralded its educational initiatives through BRCM Education Society (BRCMES), which recently completed 30 years of successful journey in 2017.BRCM Public School, Gyankunj, established in 1987, is catering to the need for high-quality value based English medium schooling, for students from around 125 villages surrounding Bahal. Subsequently, BRCM Public School, Vidyagram, a premier Residential School, from class IV to XII, was added to provide for all round integrated development of students in a Boarding set up. The School affiliated to CBSE, is a member of the Indian Public School Conference (IPSC) and has students from all over India and Abroad.
In August 1999, BRCMES added technical education to its curriculum by setting up BRCM College of Engineering and Technology (BRCMCET), duly approved by the AICTE & GOH, permanently affiliated to MDU, Rohtak for B.Tech. & M.Tech courses in CSE, ME, EEE & Civil Engineering.
BRCMES in collaboration with HKC Foundation, a general degree College, GDC Memorial College commenced operations in the year 2011 with the aim to provide quality higher education to the youth of this South Haryana region , specifically targeting the Girl Students who did not venture to pursue higher studies, for lack of proper local facilities. Presently the college is offering UG Courses in BA, B.Com (Pass & Vocational) B.Sc. (Med, Non-Med & Computer Science) and PG courses in MA (Geography), MA (History), M.Com, M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Chemistry) & M.Sc. (Math).
An absolutely free School, “Nanhe Kadam”, having more than 250 underprivileged students is run by Gyankunj as a major SUPW, entirely managed by its captive staff & students. Altogether, BRCMES presently engages more than 5500 students and faculty providing aesthetically designed, modern & environmentally balanced classrooms, laboratories, workshops, sporting, recreational & mess facilities including all essential utilities and well-equipped comfortable on campus accommodation.
BHCT also undertakes multifarious philanthropic welfare measures aimed at improving the quality of life of communities in and around Bahal encompassing a cluster of more than 150 villages by actively implementing & contributing in various Immunization & Health Care Schemes, Rural Development Programs, Sports Promotion, Conservation & Maintenance of Holy Places & Public Parks, spreading awareness about environment Sustainability & Climate Change & by facilitating major Tree Plantation drives and promoting water conservation, drip irrigation, rain water harvesting and use of RO Water along with introduction of new & renewable energy sources specially focusing on Solar PV and Solar Thermal. Under the GOI & GOH PPP Programs, BHCT is cooperating with CAPART in rural sanitation projects covering the renewed “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.”
BHCT under its “GraminVikas Prakosth” in association with NABARD is actively working on a clutch of projects mainly for agricultural modernization & financial inclusion. More than 1350 women in 105 Self Help Groups, are directly involved in various micro finance schemes to make themselves banked &self dependent. GVP has also created 20 Kissan Clubs with more than 250 members from nearby villages and has adopted two villages under Village Development Program (VDP).
In association with DOS, GOH, BHCT is managing the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Stadium with modern Gym at Bahal for promoting Sports among Children and Youth. Through DOE, GOH, BHCT has also adopted ITI Bahal, providing managerial & organizational expertise, thus committing better facilities and choice of multiple technical courses to the youth of this rural area enhancing their employability.
In 2013, BHCT initiated Organic Horticulture, Hydroponics & Dairy Farming activities by creating ‘Smt. Urmila Chaudhary Dairy Farm’ with 200 plus mixed Cow breeds based on ultra modern Israeli Technology catering to the captive needs of Annapurna Mess at Vidyagram Campus.
