One of the 54 Federal Government universities that fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Higher Education within the Ministry of Education of the Government of India is Central University of South Bihar, located in Gaya, India. Central University of Bihar (CUB) was the original name of the institution when it was founded under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Section 25 of 2009). However, the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, of 2014 changed the name to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB).

It is a higher education establishment located in the state of Bihar. The university currently provides a range of courses in Law stream: B.A.LLB , LLM & PhD in Law.

The infrastructure of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is sufficient to create the ideal environment for multidisciplinary legal studies in the genuine sense. On the other hand, the Department of Law and Governance began its journey in 2013 and has quickly accomplished a number of milestones. Its students are placed successfully in a variety of legal fields, such as academia, government, business law, corporate law, banking, insurance, and law enforcement, among others. In addition to being deeply ingrained in a multidisciplinary approach to legal studies and research, the Department of Law and Governance at the School of Law and Governance, CUSB, is actively working to spread this approach among both privileged and underprivileged scholars and students of law and jurisprudence.

Hostel- The university has built two elegantly designed separate hostels for Boys and girls on its campus to give its students the best amenities available. The hostels offer both indoor and outdoor sports facilities for leisure and entertainment.

Health Center- Currently housed inside "Chanakya Bhavan," the CUSB Health Center features a consultation room, separate wards for men and women, a changing room, and a nursing station.

Smart Class Rooms- The CUSB Smart Class Rooms are furnished with all the tools required to satisfy the demands of the classroom. Seventy-five of the university's 85 classrooms—37 in the Social Science Building, 25 in the Earth and Biological Building, 6 in the School of Education Building, and 8 in the Lecture Hall—have smart classrooms. 

Computer Lab- The university's staff, educators, and students can use the computer laboratories as a central location for processing assignments, projects, dissertations, and other research-related tasks. There are designated communal computer laboratories in every school building.
