Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur – Application/Admission Process

Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences offers undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) courses in various medical specialties.

Admission Process:

Undergraduate (MBBS) Admission

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. For SC/ST/OBC categories, the minimum marks are 40% and 45%, respectively.
  • The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of December 31st of the admission year.

Admission Procedure:

NEET UG Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Counseling Process:

  • 85% State Quota Seats: Counseling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh.
  • 15% All India Quota Seats: Counseling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Postgraduate (MD/MS) Admission

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with a minimum of 50% marks from an NMC-recognized institution.
  • Completion of a one-year internship by March 31st of the admission year is mandatory.

Admission Procedure:

NEET PG Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the NEET PG exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Counseling Process:

  • All India Quota Seats: Counseling is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Medical Examination Cell.
  • State Quota Seats: Counseling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Chhattisgarh.

Application Process

  • Registration: Candidates must register for NEET UG or NEET PG through the official NTA or NBE websites, respectively.
  • Application Form: Fill out the application form with personal, academic, and contact details. Upload required documents such as photographs and signatures.
  • Application Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Counseling Registration: After qualifying for NEET, register for counseling through the respective counseling authority's website (DME Chhattisgarh for state quota or MCC for all India quota).
  • Document Verification: Verify documents at designated centers.
  • Seat Allotment: Lock choices and check the seat allotment result on the counseling authority's website.
  • Admission Confirmation: Report to the allotted college with the allotment letter and original documents to confirm admission.
