Dakshin Solapur Taluka Shikshan (D.S.T.S.) Mandal was established on 17th Sep, 1976 by Late Shri. V. G. Shivdare (Anna): a visionary and revolutionary leader in Cooperative sector of Maharashtra and pioneer of education in Dakshin Solapur Taluka, Solapur. His prime focus was to nurture and promote value-based education in the society. The trust has been catering to the educational and cultural needs of the society for the last four decades with the motto “Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya”. Our students, educated through the five-point formula of Knowledge, Character, Love, Management and Service, are well-known in society as responsible citizens of caliber, culture and character with an awareness of their social accountability.

The Trust keeps pace with the rapidly changing scenario of the educational field, both at national and international level which is evident through its history since establishment. The trust provided free library facility for Junior and Senior College students from rural areas and also conducted orientation programs for students of these areas studying in Std. X and Std. XII for almost 20 years.

D.S.T.S. Mandal is committed for providing quality education for all, from K.G. to P.G. under a single roof. In 1980, College of Pharmacy (D.Pharm) was established as “Grant-in-Aid” under D.S.T.S. Mandal. In 1993, D.S.T.S. Mandal’s College of Pharmacy was established for B. Pharm program and later M. Pharm and Ph.D. programs were added. In 2005, V.G. Shivdare College of Arts, Commerce and Science was established with Bachelor degree programs in Arts (B.A.), Commerce (B.Com.) and Biotechnology (B.Sc. Biotechnology) added with a Master degree program in Biotechnology (M.Sc. Biotechnology) in 2009 under Affiliation of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. The continued academic contribution of the institute resulted in addition of Unique English Medium School in 2012 which imparts primary and secondary education. In 2016, the V. G. Shivdare Junior Science College was established.
