It would be germane to put forth you at the beginning that the endeavors regarding the establishment of a higher education institute i.e. a Government UG college in the Kadiri town dawned into success in the year 1975 with the starting of the functioning of "Sri Tayi Suryanarayana Government Degree College at Kadiri from 01-01-1975 with Arts and Commerce Courses by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh vide its G O Ms. No.740 Education (C)Dept.dated 25-06-1975 at Kadiri,Taluk headquarters in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. Adding a feather in its cap, the science courses and Arts group in Urdu Medium were started in the year 1993.At present the college is functioning imparting Science,Arts and Commerce UG courses and with ten combinations and PG courses (M.Sc in Zoology) catering to the educational needs of the inhabitants of the Kadiri town and its surrounding villages. The best efforts of the entire faculty contributed in achieving "B" grade in the previous NAAC (National Assessment and Accrediation Council) assessment of the college.
