Government Dental College & Hospital (GDCH), Nagpur – Application/Admission Process

The Government Dental College & Hospital offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degrees. Admission to these programs is based on merit and requires candidates to meet specific eligibility criteria and undergo a selection process.

BDS Admission Process:

  • Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Counseling: Qualified candidates must participate in the Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling, conducted by the Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. Admission is based on NEET UG scores, seat availability, and reservation criteria. There are two counseling processes: State Quota admission through CET cell of Maharashtra and All India Quota admission through Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
  • Application: To apply, candidates must register on the official websites of the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State, for state quota admissions, or the Medical Counselling Committee for All India Quota admissions.
  • Finalizing Admission: Candidates allotted a seat must download the allotment letter and report to the institute within the specified time. They must pay the BDS fee to finalize their admission.

MDS Admission Process:

  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have a BDS degree from a dental institution recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Completion of a one-year internship by or before March 31st of the admission year is also mandatory.
  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test MDS (NEET MDS).
  • Counseling: Eligible candidates can participate in the GDCH Nagpur admission process through the State quota (CET Cell Maharashtra) and/or All India quota (MCC counselling).
  • Application: Applicants must put Government Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur, at the top of their choice filling list.
  • Finalizing Admission: After receiving the allotment letter, candidates must report to the institute for physical document verification and pay the MDS fee to finalize their seat.

The overall tuition fees charged is INR 374,840 for UG courses. The total tuition fees for PG courses range between INR 306,600 - INR 318,900. The duration for UG courses is 5 years and for PG courses is 2-3 years.
