Gurudev Arts and Science College, Mathil.Established in 2002, Gurudev Arts and Science College is affiliated with Kannur University and is managed by the Corporate Educational Agency of the Catholic Diocese of Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad. It is one of the most reputed Catholic institutions in the region. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thomas, Bishop of the Diocese of Bathery, serves as the Manager and Patron of the college.Founded by the Gurudev Educational and Charitable Trust, under the visionary leadership of Mr. M. V. Purushothaman (Founder Chairman), the college began its journey from Safa Marva Tower, Payyanur, and shifted to its permanent campus atop a scenic hill in Mathil town in 2003.Starting with just two undergraduate (UG) courses, the college has grown significantly, now offering 14 UG programs and 5 postgraduate (PG) programs across various disciplines in Science, Humanities, Commerce, Business Administration, Social Work, and Tourism. In 2014, the first PG course in Chemistry was launched, followed by PG programs in Mathematics, Commerce, English, and Physics.
