The Indian Institute of Technology Madras offers various scholarships to support its students financially. IIT Madras provides scholarships for UG, PG, and doctoral programs based on academic achievements and merits scored in national-level examinations. These scholarships include the Dr. K Vasanth Rau Scholarship, Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, and Institute Free studentship, among others.
The institute also facilitates scholarships offered by the government, such as the Central Sector Scholarship for SC students, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and MHRD scholarship for single girl child, among others.
