KMEA Engineering College was inaugurated in 2002, and managed by the Kerala Muslim Educational Association, a charitable trust. Founded in 1957, the Kerala Muslim Educational Association aimed to establish quality educational institutions that meet global standards. Its mission includes promoting education among minority communities and offering financial assistance to economically disadvantaged but deserving students.

KMEA has received approval from the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is affiliated with the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
