Kamala Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Karimnagar, established in 1997, is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the academic aspirations of its students. The institution facilitates a robust financial aid ecosystem comprising state government reimbursements, central scholarship schemes, and institutional merit-based awards.
For the 2025–2026 academic cycle, the following scholarship and financial aid options are available to eligible students.
The most significant financial aid for students at KITS is the Telangana State Electronic Payment and Application System of Scholarships (TS ePASS). This scheme provides either full or partial tuition fee reimbursement based on merit and category.
Full Fee Reimbursement:
SC/ST Category: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are eligible for 100% tuition fee reimbursement, regardless of their rank, provided they secure admission through the convener quota (TS EAMCET/ICET/PGECET).
High Rankers: Students of any category (including General/OC) who secure a rank below 10,000 in the TS EAMCET are eligible for full fee reimbursement.
Government School/College Alumni: Students who completed their intermediate education in government junior colleges are often eligible for full reimbursement.
Partial Fee Reimbursement:
BC/EBC/Minority Categories: Students from these categories typically receive a standard reimbursement of INR 35,000 per annum.
Income Eligibility: To qualify for these state schemes, the annual family income must generally be less than INR 2.0 Lakhs (for SC/ST) or INR 1.5 Lakhs (for BC/EBC in rural areas).
KITS Karimnagar offers its own set of awards to encourage academic excellence among its students.
Entrance Exam Merit Scholarships: Awarded to students who secure top ranks in entrance exams like TS EAMCET (for B.Tech) or GATE/TS PGECET (for M.Tech). The scholarship amount varies annually based on the rank cut-offs.
Need-Based Financial Aid: The college management provides determined financial support to students who demonstrate both strong academic records and significant financial need. Applicants must submit relevant documentation regarding their economic status for review by the college committee.
Branch Topper Awards: Small cash prizes or tuition waivers are often granted to students who maintain the highest CGPA in their respective engineering branches (e.g., CSE, ECE, EEE) during their course of study.
Students at KITS can also apply for various central government scholarships via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Post-Matric Scholarships: Available for students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi) with a family income of less than INR 2 Lakhs.
Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana: Formerly known as the Central Sector Scheme, this is available to students who scored above the 80th percentile in their Class 12 exams.
Pragati & Saksham Schemes: Special AICTE scholarships for Girl Students (Pragati) and Specially-Abled Students (Saksham) pursuing technical degrees.
The application process for scholarships at KITS is primarily handled online through respective portals.
Registration: Students must register on the TS ePASS portal (for state aid) or the NSP portal (for central aid) immediately after securing admission.
Document Submission: Essential documents include the Allotment Order, Income Certificate (issued by MRO), Caste Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, and previous academic mark sheets.
Institutional Verification: After online submission, a physical copy of the application along with the required documents must be submitted to the college administrative office for verification.
Renewal: Students must apply for scholarship renewal every year, maintaining at least 75% attendance and clearing their semester examinations without backlogs.
Note to Applicants: As KITS became an Autonomous institution in 2024, students are advised to check the college's official website (kitssingapuram.ac.in) for any updated internal scholarship forms or changes in the reimbursement claim process for the 2026-27 session.
