Established in 1998 by Dr. KCG Verghese, KCG College of Technology Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, it is a Christian minority institution affiliated with Anna University (Autonomous), Chennai.
The AICTE, Government of India, New Delhi, has approved KCG College of Technology, formerly known as the National Institute of Technology and Science.
The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has recognized thirteen undergrad and five graduate programs offered by the college. The college has an A+ grade and NAAC accreditation. The college has been classified by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the 201-250 band among engineering institutes in India for the years 2020 and 2021, and in the 11-50 band for the year 2023.

The library has 30 magazine subscriptions, 5 newspaper subscriptions, and 102 national journals.
Transport- All of the city's main routes are serviced by a well-run fleet of buses that offers transportation services between the college and the housing halls for the students.
Book Bank- With an extensive library of 2.5 lakh books featuring both Indian and international writers, HBB is currently the largest book bank, serving over a million students in various engineering disciplines.
