Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology Application/Admission Process

Admission to Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology (MRCET), Hyderabad, follows a structured process based on merit, entrance examinations, and government-mandated counselling.

1. Admission Channels

There are two primary ways to secure a seat at MRCET:

  • Convener Quota (Category A - 70% seats): Admissions are managed by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) through a centralized counselling process.

  • Management Quota (Category B - 30% seats): These seats are filled directly by the college management based on merit and guidelines set by the government.

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • B.Tech-  10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 45% aggregate.
  • M.Tech- B.E./B.Tech in a relevant branch with at least 50% aggregate.
  • MBA- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) with 45–50% aggregate.
  • Ph.D.- Post-graduate degree in a relevant field with 55% marks.

 

3. Application & Counselling Process

  • For Convener Quota:

    1. Appear for the relevant state entrance exam (TG EAPCET, TS PGECET, or TS ICET).

    2. Participate in the official online counselling portal when notified by the TSCHE.

    3. Select MRCET Hyderabad as your preferred college during the "web-option" choice-filling process.

    4. Seat allotment is based on your rank, category, and availability.

    5. After allotment, you must complete self-reporting on the counselling portal and then physically report to the college for document verification.

  • For Management Quota (Category B):

    1. Monitor the official MRCET website for the Category B application notification.

    2. Download the application form from the website or obtain it from the campus admission office.

    3. Submit the filled form in person at the campus along with the required documents and application fee.

    4. Admission is granted based on merit (typically 12th-grade scores or entrance rank) and a personal interaction.

4. Documents Required for Reporting

When reporting to the campus, ensure you have the following (both originals and multiple photocopies):

  • Allotment Order & Joining Report (from the counselling portal).

  • Entrance Exam Rank Card and Hall Ticket.

  • 10th and 12th Mark Sheets/Certificates.

  • Transfer Certificate (T.C.)Note: Admission is not confirmed without the original T.C.

  • Aadhar Card and Birth Certificate.

  • Caste, Income, and EWS certificates (if applicable).

  • Passport-size photographs.

  • Migration certificate (if applicable).
