Municipal College took its birth under the auspices of REDS (Rourkela Educational Development Society ) in the year 1978 and within a span of 41 years it has proved itself to be an institution of excellence The college has been accredited by NAAC in 2016 with B + Grade (2nd Cycle) with a Grade Point of 2.67 .It is in receipt of World Bank Sponsored Institutional Development Grant (IDG) under the programme Odisha Higher Education Programme for Excellence and Equity (OHEPEE) of Govt. of Odisha , Department of Higher Education.It is also one of the leading college of Sambalpur Univesity having established its academic credentials over the years in University Examinations consistently.
