impetus in the growth of Information Technology and Management industry in the last three five year plans, it has become imperative to shift emphasis on traditional graduation courses to Science, Commerce and Computer education from the conventional areas of graduation to the fast developing areas of Electronics, Communication, Computer science, Management and Information Technology.An estimate of the manpower requirements in the emerging areas has shown that there is a substantial gap between the supply and demand, with the demand far exceeding the supply. Having visualized this, to provide Quality education UG to the people of Rayalaseema area of the Kadapa district“Nagarjuna Educational Social Cultural Organization (NESCO)” was constituted and registered as an educational society at Kadapa in 1993. The NESCO aims at providing higher and quality Education which will provide knowledge as well as employment to the women students in the above mentioned district. To achieve its much cherished mission, the Organization under the leadership of Sri B.Ramakrishna Reddy, a visionary and pioneering personality in the Rayalaseema area, established “Nagarjuna Degree College for Women” on 1993-94. It was affiliated to S.V.University; Tirupathi till 2010 and after establishment of Yogi Vemana University at Kadapa, the college is presently permanently affiliated to Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa. The college had started with an initial intake of 50 Degree Women students comprising four groups in Science, Arts, Computer Applications and Commerce. Gradually, the sanctioned intake increased to 1130 at UG level, with over Ten courses in B.Sc, One in B.Com, One in BA and One programme at PG Level.Nagarjuna Degree College for Women today is bestowed with advanced infrastructure which includes modern buildings, Labs, Library,Gym, cement roads and lush green landscaping around the campus.The practices and programs of the College embody the ideals of an open and democratic society. With the efforts of the Management and dedicated services of the faculty and staff, the college has emerged as one of the highly opted institution in providing high knowledge to the Women students and also employment opportunities in core and multinational IT companies while competing with technical institutions.Dr.K.Suryanarayana Reddy, the Principal of the college leads with an impressive qualification which includes Ph.D in Mathematics from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi. He has to his credit a teaching experience of more than 18 years with 8 years of Research and around 7 years of experience in Administration.
