National Institute of Technical Teacher Training & Research Application/Admission Process

National Institute of Technical Teacher Training & Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh – Application/Admission Process

  1. M.E.:

Eligibility: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.

Admission Process:

  • Entrance Examination: Admission is primarily through GATE scores. Candidates can also apply through the PGCET exam or based on their B. Tech scores.
  • Application Submission: Applications can be submitted online or offline. Forms are available on the NITTTR website, typically during July-August each year.
  • Counseling: Candidates with valid GATE scores will be preferred and will undergo CCMT counseling based on seat availability.
  • Direct Admission: Candidates without GATE or PGCET scores may apply for direct admission through the NITTTR application process.
  1. PhD Programs:

Eligibility: Candidates must possess a relevant Master's degree or equivalent. In-service teachers, working professionals, and fresh Master's degree holders can apply.

Admission Process:

  • Application Submission: Applications can be submitted via email along with self-attested copies of relevant documents.
  • Merit-Based Selection: Admission is based on merit, which includes performance in a presentation and/or interview conducted by the institute.
  • Direct Admission: Candidates can apply for direct admission at any time during the year, subject to approval by the NITTTR Academic and Administrative PhD Admission Committee.
  • QIP Scheme: For candidates applying under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP), specific criteria as per the QIP guidelines must be followed.
  • Entrance Examination: Candidates under the direct admission scheme are required to qualify for the PhD Entrance Examination of the degree-awarding university unless they have cleared GATE/NET or other national fellowship tests.
