The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), a self-governing organization created by India's University Grants Commission (UGC), has granted accreditation to NIRMA University in Ahmedabad. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has additionally accredited the institution for its superior technical and professional education. The government of India has also designated the institution as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
NIRMA University is a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as well. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has also approved the university's legal programmes. Moreover, the university belongs to the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
