NMAM Institute of Technology Application/Admission Process

Admission to the NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) in Nitte for the 2026 academic session is primarily entrance-based. The institute conducts its own entrance exam, the Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT), for most programs.

Admission Process

  1. Online Registration: Candidates must register and fill out the application form on the official Nitte University admissions portal (apply.nitte.edu.in).

  2. Entrance Exam (NUCAT): Appear for the NUCAT, which is the primary gateway for B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and MBA programs.

  3. Counselling & Selection: Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling sessions based on their NUCAT merit list, where they can choose their preferred branch/specialization.

  4. Document Verification & Fee Payment: After seat allocation, candidates must complete physical document verification and pay the prescribed tuition fees to confirm their admission.

Eligibility Criteria (B.Tech)

  • Educational Qualification: Pass in 10+2 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics).

  • Age: Must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the year of admission.

Admission Categories

  • General Category: Indian nationals who completed Class 12 in India. Admission is based on NUCAT merit.

  • Inclusivity Category: Reserved for Indian nationals who studied outside Karnataka for seven years between Class 1 and 12, with at least 70% in PCM.

  • NRI/Foreign National Category: Direct admission based on qualifying examination marks; candidates must submit an inquiry form on the website.

  • JEE/Other Entrances: A limited number of seats are often available through JEE Main or state-level entrance scores.

Important Documents Required

  • 10th and 12th standard marks cards and pass certificates.

  • Transfer and Conduct certificates from the last institution attended.

  • Migration certificate (for boards outside the current system).

  • Aadhaar card copy.

  • Recent color photographs (passport size).

  • Physical fitness and blood group certificates.
