The Odisha UniveRs.ity of Technology and Research (OUTR), formerly known as the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (CETB), is a public unitary technical univeRs.ity established by the Government of Odisha in 1981. It was initially a constituent college of the Odisha UniveRs.ity of Agriculture and Technology, but later became a constituent college of the Biju Patnaik UniveRs.ity of Technology (BPUT) in 2002.
OUTR is located in a 100-acre Techno-campus in Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar, about 2 km away from the Khandagiri-Udayagiri caves. The campus features various facilities including a full-fledged branch of Syndicate Bank, ladies and boys hostels, faculty quarteRs., and ongoing construction of additional academic and administrative blocks, a sports complex, and other amenities.
Odisha UniveRs.ity of Technology and Research is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and was awarded an "A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2017. It is one of two institutes in Odisha participating in the TEQIP-II project run by the World Bank and the National Ministry of Human Resources Development, hosting several centeRs. of excellence.
OUTR has an annual intake of 1,400 students and offeRs. a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and integrated master's programs across 14 academic departments. The institute is a highly sought-after technical institution, with students admitted through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the Government of India.
