Types of Scholarships and Financial Aid

Financial assistance at UPGC, Secunderabad, is primarily categorized into state-government welfare schemes and university-specific support.

• Telangana State Government Scholarships (TS ePass): This is the most significant source of financial aid for students. The program is designed to support students from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Backward Class (BC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), and Minority communities.

  • Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF): The state government provides full or partial tuition fee reimbursement, depending on the course and the student's category.

  • Maintenance Fee (MTF): Eligible students may receive a maintenance allowance to assist with living and educational expenses.

• University-Linked Assistance: As a constituent college of Osmania University, UPGC students are often eligible for various university-funded concessions, fellowships, or merit-based awards announced by Osmania University periodically.

• Non-NET Fellowships: For research scholars (Ph.D.), the university often facilitates Non-NET fellowships for full-time candidates, subject to the availability of grants and adherence to university guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is strictly governed by the guidelines set by the Government of Telangana and the university’s administrative policies.

• Domicile: Applicants must be residents of Telangana state.

• Category and Income Limits:

  • SC/ST Students: Typically eligible if the annual family income is INR 2,00,000 or below.

Application Process

The application process is centralized and conducted digitally to ensure transparency and timely disbursement.

1. Online Registration: Students must register and apply through the official Telangana ePass portal.

2. Required Documentation: Students are required to submit the following documents during the application process:

   • Caste Certificate: Issued by the concerned Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO).

   • Income Certificate: Latest certificate issued by the MRO.

   • Academic Documents: Memorandum of marks of the qualifying examination, SSC memo, and the latest Transfer Certificate (TC).

   • Bonafide/Attendance Certificate: Obtained from the college office.

   • Aadhaar Card: Must be seeded/linked with the student's bank account (NPCI mapping is required for Direct Benefit Transfer).

3. Institutional Submission: After completing the online registration, students must submit a hard copy of the duly filled application form, along with two sets of xerox copies of all enclosures, to the Scholarship Section in the office of the Principal at UPGC Secunderabad.

4. Verification: The college scholarship section will verify the documents and forward them to the state government/university welfare department for final approval.

Important Considerations for Students

• Timely Application: Students are advised to be proactive and keep in touch with the college’s Scholarship Department to stay informed about government notifications, which are often subject to strict deadlines.

• Gap Certificates: If there has been an academic gap, students must submit a gap certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer stating they have not studied in any other institution or received a scholarship during that period.
